19.2 Weeks update!

Hey guys!

I can't believe I'm almost five months... it's amazing how soon time goes by! I just hope these next few weeks also go by soon because my weight is really starting to bother me and it's becoming painful... Not too many changes from week 18 to week 19... everything is pretty much the same. I'm still having my pelvic ligament pains and I also realized that Baby A is on top of my bladder and makes pressure on my pelvic area. It's very uncomfortable and since I can feel her move down there, the pressure is greater. It's funny how some people think that I'm almost ready to "pop" lol. I have to explain that I'm having triplets and that's the reason I'm so big.

Yesterday was one of my best friend's birthday and I had the opportunity to go out with my husband and celebrate with my mutual friends. It felt so nice to get out of the house and spend time with people I truly care about. I know that after the babies are born it will be 3x harder to go out and spend time with my friends, but I'm thankful that I was able to do that. I have some nice pics that I will post at the end of the blog from her birthday party. :)

Tuesday is my hubby's birthday!!! I'm still not sure what I'm going to do for him... Unfortunately since I'm not working (and money is tight)... I probably won't be able to throw him a party or anything, but I might take him out to dinner. We'll see... I will post later what we ended up doing. This month of September is a crazy one... Hubby's birthday is the 8th, mine is the 18th, and my baby shower is the 26th!!! So every week this month there is something going on!!

I have my next doctor's appointment on Wednesday afternoon. I will have my routine cervix check and I'm going to ask the tech to check the babies out and see how they're doing. Usually when it's just a cervix check they don't really look at the babies. :( But hopefully she'll do me that little favor. I just loveee seeing them! It gives me the peace of mind that they're doing alright.

BABIES' NAMES:

Well now that we know what the sexes of our babies are... WE HAVE NAMES FOR THEM! yay!
Baby A (Girl)- Melody Grace
Baby B (Girl)- Delilah Marie
Baby C (Boy)- Hector Manuel Jr.

What do you guys think?? Feel free to comment about the names... My husband and I are really excited about the names and it just makes us feel more connected to the babies. We talk to them every morning and call them by their names... it's so cute!

The 5 Month Period:

Ok, so I must admit that the weeks 20-24 are a little scary for me... I feel like i once I pass this scary stage, that I am going to feel soooo much better! Weeks 20-24 are usually the hardest weeks in a triplets pregnancy because it's usually when all the complications begin... I am confident and have FAITH in God that everything will be just fine and that this month will be a breeze... but I still need a lot of prayer and support from my loved ones these coming weeks because I am still human and have my moments of insecurity from time to time. Once I pass my 24th week mark, my babies begin to have a chance of life and that just makes me soooo happy!!! Of course there are always complications when babies are born at such a young stage, but I think that once I pass that stage, I will feel lots better! My goal continues to be 32 weeks!! I'm not changing that because I am believing that God will get me there!

Well, I know this was a long post... but what can I say? This is the beginning of 19 weeks (the end of month 4) and i needed to have a nice closure! :) Hope you enjoyed reading!!! Have a blessed week!!

Here are the pictures from my friend's birthday party!! My 19 weeks belly pic too!! :)

18.5 Weeks Update and GOMOTT!!!

Hi Everyone!!

So last night was definitely one of the best nights of my pregnancy so far... I was able to go to the first meeting of GOMOTT which stands for Greater Orlando Mothers of Twins and Triplets!! I had the privilege to meet so many wonderful mothers and mothers-to-be of twins and triplets. I learned soooo much and got a lot of useful information. Meetings are the first Tuesday of every month and they have activities in between meetings for the moms and the children. My favorite part of the meeting was getting to know moms of triplets and hearing their stories. It was so encouraging to know that so many women have gone through what I am going through right now. I really look forward to getting to know more moms and participating in the activities before and after the pregnancy! I really recommend this group for those moms out there of twins and triplets in Central Florida. It is truly worth it!!!

Pregnancy Update:

Nothing has really changed in the last few days... My husband did tell me this morning that my belly had another growth spurt. I don't really notice the growth spurts, but I definitely have my hubby to let me know when they do occur! :) I have also noticed that I am particularly hungrier than usual these last few days... We'll see how much I gain this week on next week's appointment. I can't wait to see my babies!! I see them every 2 weeks and once the first week passes, I start getting desperate to see them again!!! I love seeing them and knowing that everything is okay.

Well, thank you for reading my posts and letting me know you're enjoying them... I really hope this will be a great way to keep in touch with all of you and sharing my ups and downs of my triplet pregnancy. Have a great rest of the week! :)

18 weeks 3 days Update!

It's been a very long time I don't write a post... three weeks to be exact. I really wanted to keep up with my blogs, but for some reason it has become quite difficult to do so... My goal from now on is to try to keep my blogs updated at least once or twice a week. :)

Today I am 18 weeks 3 days. I was confirmed last week that we're having 2 girls and a boy!! We are so excited because we were really hoping to have a little variety...

In the last post I wrote about my cervical cerclage. Everything went great! My only complaint was the spinal anesthesia... I had NO CLUE that it would make me so anxious! Since the spinal anesthesia numbs you completely belly down, I couldn't move my feet or my toes and throughout the procedure that got me a little anxious... but I managed and tried my best to stay cool. My surgery was at 8:00am and I was out of the hospital by 10:30am... the nurses were very surprised that I was able to walk and go to the bathroom so soon after the anesthesia. :)

So far everything is going great in the pregnancy. Last week the ultrasound tech spent some time with me checking the babies and their organs. They also checked their spinal cord and everything looked great!! Dr. Christensen (my high risk doctor), told us that at 21 weeks we will have an even more thorough ultrasound and they would check the babies' hearts more in depth. I'm a little nervous but very confident that everything will be just fine!

Physical state:

I am getting very heavy!! My back started hurting this week and it's no fun. I've gained 15 pounds throughout the pregnancy and Dr. Christensen told me i should gain 50-60 pounds!! I have no clue how I'm gonna do that... but we'll see. For now he told me that I'm doing good (weight wise) but that I should try to eat a little more these next few weeks to try to gain some more weight. The babies are weighing perfectly (my 2 girls are weighing 7 ounces and my boy 8 ounces). This was almost a week ago (6 days to be exact) so I'm sure they're probably a little bigger. :) My other complaint (besides my back) is the ligament stretching pain. Ugh! It's terrible!!! But I'm slowly getting used to it (if there is such a thing). I haven't gotten swollen feet or fingers yet which makes me SO HAPPY!! But I have a feeling it's soon to come because this weight is killing me and I can barely walk.

Baby Shower:

My Baby Shower will be on September 26, 2009. I AM SO EXCITED!!! I will be 22 weeks and 1 day. I wanted to make it early because I'm scared my doctor will put me on bed rest and then I will be restricted from many activities that I am looking forward to. I'm not quite sure what theme it will be (because my mother is planning it) but I'm sure it will be beautiful! We invited 150 people!! Can you believe it??? ha,ha! It's just such a big event for everyone and we really wanted to share it with ALL our friends and family.

Well to end this post I'm going to add some pictures of the anatomy of my 3 precious babies and some pictures of their profiles... These ultrasound pics are from 17 weeks 4 days. Enjoy!!!

14 Weeks

This week has been rather scary... This week will be my cervical cerclage surgery and I must admit that I'm a bit scared. My doctor thinks it's a good idea to do the cervical cerclage because as the babies grow, my cervix can begin to dilate and I could go into labor early. My mother and husband will be there with me. I will keep you guys posted! :)

I will also leave you guys with a little information about what a cervical cerclage is.

What is cervical cerclage?

Treatment for cervical incompetence is a surgical procedure called cervical cerclage, in which the cervix is sewn closed during pregnancy. The cervix is the lowest part of the uterus and extends into the vagina.

What are the benefits of a cerclage?

Cervical cerclage helps prevent miscarriage or premature labor caused by cervical incompetence. The procedure is successful in 85% to 90% of cases. Cervical cerclage appears to be effective when true cervical incompetence exists, but unfortunately the diagnosis of cervical incompetence is very difficult and can be inaccurate.

What happens during the cervical cerclage procedure?

Most women have general, spinal, or epidural anesthesia for pain control during the procedure. A doctor will stitch a band of strong thread around the cervix, and the thread will be tightened to hold the cervix firmly closed.

I leave you with 14 week belly pics... Enjoy!! :)

Three Miracles Sent from above!

My name is Annette and my husband's name is Hector. We have been married since January 4, 2007 and we have been trying to conceive since. Our miracle date happened May 22, 2009 when after taking a Home Pregnancy Test, I discovered I was pregnant! I called my doctor right away and scheduled some blood work. I went the same day and sure enough I was pregnant! My husband and I were so excited and I could not believe it finally happened! We told very few people (my best friend Leslie, and my sister-in-law). We wanted to keep it a secret until we were sure the pregnancy was going to be.

June 2, 2009 was the day of our first ultrasound! Hector and I were so excited but nervous at the same time. That day, our doctor saw three sacs in my uterus.... yes... THREE BABIES!!! Omg I was in total shock, but Hector tried to play it off saying that he knew it all along! Ha,ha! I think my doctor was more in shock than my husband and I because she was just speechless the whole time!

We have not told our family yet because we want to break the news on Father's day (June 21). I have a big surprise for my dad and I can't wait until that date comes. By that time I will have had another ultrasound at 7 1/2 weeks to hear my babies' heartbeats! I can't wait!

Well, we are now starting our triplets journey and we are so excited about what's to come! I will use the website to keep my friends and family updated with my pregnancy and to also share some experiences with other triplets parents!

I leave you with some pictures of my three little peas in a pod and some pics of my 9 1/2 weeks ultrasound :)
